Granit Xhaka si allontana ulteriormente dal Milan, e attualmente le probabilità che il regista svizzero del Leverkusen approdi a Milano appaiono piuttosto basse. Fin dall’inizio si è saputo che Xhaka rappresentava un profilo fuori dagli schemi per il Milan, club che negli ultimi anni ha prediletto profili giovani, promettenti e con stipendi sostenibili. Le doti di Xhaka sono differenti: è un calciatore di carattere, molto prezioso sia in fase di possesso che di non possesso, ma ha 32 anni e il suo arrivo comporterebbe un investimento considerevole tra costo del cartellino e ingaggio. La vera domanda era se il club rossonero fosse disposto a fare un’eccezione, vista la possibilità di affidargli un ruolo centrale in un gruppo che sta cambiando volto e cerca nuovi punti di riferimento.

Per ora, però, questa eccezione non è nei piani. Il Milan ha già raggiunto un’intesa con Luka Modric: non si tratta ancora di un’operazione ufficiale, ma esiste un accordo definito da tempo con Igli Tare. Se tutto procederà secondo programma, una foto del croato con la maglia rossonera sarà diffusa sui social al termine della sua partecipazione al Mondiale per club con il Real Madrid. Sarà lui il veterano a cui verrà affidata la gestione della mediana. Il resto del centrocampo sarà composto da Ruben Loftus-Cheek e Youssouf Fofana, entrambi confermati dalla scorsa stagione, e da alcuni elementi con meno di 25 anni. Samuele Ricci, in arrivo dal Torino, è molto vicino, mentre un ulteriore rinforzo potrebbe giungere dalla Spagna.

I contatti con il Valencia per Javi Guerra restano attivi: il Milan ha presentato un’offerta da 20 milioni di euro, compresi i bonus, e potrebbe rilanciare nei prossimi giorni. Il club spagnolo, che potrebbe presto cedere Christian Mosquera all’Arsenal (giocatore seguito anche dai rossoneri in passato), ha finora respinto le proposte per Guerra. Ma riuscirà a dire di no anche davanti a una cifra tra i 20 e i 25 milioni? Lo sapremo a breve.

Granit Xhaka is moving further away from Milan, and for now, the chances of the Swiss midfielder from Leverkusen landing in Milan are slim. It has always been clear that Xhaka was a departure from Milan’s usual strategy, which in recent years has focused on signing young players with development potential and moderate wages. Xhaka brings different strengths: he has a strong personality, contributes significantly both on and off the ball, but at 32, his signing would require a notable financial commitment in terms of transfer fee and salary. The question was whether the Rossoneri were willing to make an exception, considering Granit has all the qualities to be a key figure in a rebuilding squad seeking new leadership.

For now, however, that exception does not seem to be on the table. Milan has already reached a handshake agreement with Luka Modric; while not yet officially announced, the deal has been in place for some time with Igli Tare. If everything goes as expected, a photo of the Croatian wearing the Rossoneri jersey will appear on social media once his Club World Cup journey with Real Madrid concludes. He will be the seasoned player tasked with leading the midfield. The rest of the department will include Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Youssouf Fofana, both retained from last season, along with several players under 25. Samuele Ricci from Torino is close to joining, and another signing could arrive from Spain.

Milan remains in regular contact with Valencia for Javi Guerra, having submitted a €20 million bid including bonuses, and could return with another offer this week. The Spanish club, which may soon sell Christian Mosquera to Arsenal (a player previously tracked by the Rossoneri), has so far rejected offers for Guerra.
