Ecco le parole di mister Conceiçao alla vigilia della trasferta di Torino contro la squadra granata:


Domani è decisiva per concentrarsi solo sul campionato?
"E' una gara importante contro un avversario difficile che nel 2025 ha perso solo contro il Bologna. E' una trasferta complicata per il Milan, ho visto i risultati degli ultimi anni. La nostra finale di Champions League è domani e ogni partita deve essere così".

Come sta la squadra?
"Dopo una partita si inizia subito a lavorare per quella dopo. Ho visto il gruppo già concentrato, anche se ovviamente l'eliminazione ha fatto male a tutti. Avevamo preparato bene la partita, ma nel calcio contato tanto gli episodi. Io dico sempre che il calcio è semplice, ma dentro a questa semplicità ci sono tante cose complesse. Dobbiamo continuare la nostra evoluzione e a lavorare. Il tempo è poco, anche per colpa nostra perchè potevamo essere già agli ottavi di Champions. Dobbiamo pensare al quarto posto e alla Coppa Italia. Oggi ho visto bene i ragazzi".


Domani gioca Theo?
"Non mi piace parlare del colore dei suoi capelli: per me neri, bianchi o gialli è uguale, basta che siano professionisti e diano tutto. Ho parlato con lui a fine partita. E' un patrimonio del club, sa di aver fatto qualcosa che ha messo in difficoltà la squadra. E' disponibile per giocare domani"


Si aspettava tutte queste difficoltà?
"Voi guardate di più altri campionati, ma anche in quello portoghese c'è pressione, quindi sono abituato. So che la storia del Milan è favolosa, fatta di grandi protagonisti tra allenatori, giocatori e dirigenti. Ho rispetto enorme per questa storia. In questo momento quando non si vince, in una squadra di questa dimensione, si parla di più e c'è più fragilità. Sapevo che sarebbe stato difficile. Sono qua perché per me è una grande sfida. Avevo altre offerte, ma ho scelto qui perché mi piacciono le cose difficili".

Può spiegare perchè Joao Felix non è stato sostituito?
"Sono l'allenatore e faccio le mie scelte. Gimenez aveva avuto dei problemi nelle ultime settimane, gli ho chiesto come stava e mi ha detto che era stanco. O mettevo un altro centravanti come Abraham o un giocatore per avere più mobilità.

Come stanno i giocatori?
"Walker non è disponibile domani. Le mie scelte dipenderanno dalle condizioni di ogni singolo giocatore. Pulisic non ha i 90' nelle gambe, Gimenez è in crescita ma non è ancora al top. Quando sono arrivato diversi giocatori infortunati o in difficoltà. Alcuni come Loftus-Cheek non sono ancora rientrati. Da quando sono qui abbiamo giocato ogni tre giorni, quindi non è facile gestire la situazione. Da fuori a volte le scelte che faccio non sembrano giuste, ma tocca a me prenderle".


Che squadra è il Torino?
"Hanno giocatori molto interessanti, come Ricci per esempio. Nell'approccio che hanno ogni partita vedo sempre una squadra che ha voglia di ottenere un risultato positivo. Quindi bisogna stare al massimo. Dobbiamo prendere in mano noi la partita".

“I don’t like talking about the color of his hair: for me, whether black, white, or yellow, it’s all the same, as long as they are professionals and give everything. I spoke with him after the match. He is an asset to the club and knows he did something that put the team in a difficult position. He is available to play tomorrow.”

Did you expect all these difficulties?
“You tend to follow other leagues more, but there is pressure in the Portuguese league too, so I’m used to it. I know Milan’s history is incredible, full of great figures among coaches, players, and directors. I have enormous respect for this history. At this moment, when you don’t win in a club of this stature, people talk more, and there’s more fragility. I knew it would be difficult. I’m here because it’s a great challenge for me. I had other offers, but I chose this club because I like difficult things.”

Can you explain why Joao Felix was not substituted?
“I’m the coach, and I make my choices. Gimenez had some issues in the past weeks, I asked him how he was, and he told me he was tired. I could have put in another striker like Abraham or a player to add more mobility.”

How are the players doing?
“Walker is not available for tomorrow. My choices will depend on the condition of each player. Pulisic doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs, Gimenez is improving but is not yet at his best. When I arrived, several players were injured or struggling. Some, like Loftus-Cheek, are still not back. Since I’ve been here, we’ve played every three days, so managing the situation is not easy. From the outside, some decisions I make may not seem right, but it’s up to me to make them.”

"They have very interesting players, like Ricci, for example. In the way they approach every match, I always see a team that wants to achieve a positive result. So we have to be at our best. We need to take control of the game."
