In vista della sfida di domani sera, Massimiliano Allegri ha parlato in conferenza stampa a Casa Milan. Ecco le sue parole:

Il gruppo e i tifosi come fondamenta?
“Domani iniziamo la stagione con una partita importante, c'è molta curiosità da parte mia anche perchè torno in panchina dopo un anno. E' stato bello vedere così tante persone in Coppa Italia, anche domani ci sarà tanta gente. Dovremo cercare di lavorare bene e arrivare almeno fino a marzo nelle migliori condizioni possibili. Il gruppo? Sono molto felice dei ragazzi, stanno diventando una squadra vera.”

L'importanza del lavoro
“Io dico sempre che in campionato bisogna viaggiare come una crociera. Non bisogna andare troppo veloce, ma rimanere costanti. L'anno prossimo lo sappiamo tutti: dobbiamo tornare a giocare la Champions, e questa cosa potremo farla solo curando voglia, lavoro e dettagli in allenamento.”

La sua filosofia
“Dovremo essere una squadra con grande rispetto di tutti, perchè le partite vanno vinte sul campo, domani mica partiamo da 2-0.. quindi per ottenere risultati devi essere umile e intelligente. Tutte le partite saranno difficili, ci vorrà grande rispetto di tutti.”

Il Milan favorito per lo scudetto?
“Come ho detto ci sono almeno otto squadre, però come sempre la favorita è chi ha vinto il campionato precedente. Bisognerà essere molto bravi mantenendo un equilibrio.”

Modulo a 3 o a 4?
“Non è questione di come si gioca, ma delle caratteristiche che avremo. L'importante è mantenere un equilibrio e ordine, poi valuterò in base alle qualità e caratteristiche dei miei ragazzi.”

Il mercato
“La società ha fatto un buon lavoro sia in uscita che in entrata, tutti i giorni ci sentiamo con la dirigenza per capire obiettivi e vedere cosa potrà accadere. Adesso però l'importante è la partita che avremo domani sera.”

Su Modric e il campione visto a Milanello
“Parlare tecnicamente di Modric non c'è bisogno di parlarne... Lo dimostra la carriera. Gioca più la palla d'esterno che d'interno e lo fanno in pochi. È un ragazzo con grande umiltà. Non può avere la fisicità di 10 anni, ma insieme lo gestiremo al meglio. Sta molto bene a livello fisico.”

L’addio alla Juventus e l’entusiasmo al Milan
“Non è stato male, abbiamo vinto la Coppa Italia nell'ultima partita e tutti sanno cosa ha significato la Juve per me. Sono molto emozionato e felice di tornare in panchina dopo un anno e farlo col Milan, speriamo di non fare troppi danni (ride, ndr).”

La spinta di San Siro come nel 2010
“Dovremo esser bravi noi a caricarli grazie alle vittorie e partite, se faremo così lo stadio ci darà una mano sicuramente.”

Il peso della responsabilità
“Non è che se c'è Allegri allora il Milan vince in automatico. Nelle grandi squadre non conta allenatore o giocatore, conta la storia del club e quando sei qui devi sentire addosso la responsabilità di lavorare in un certo modo e non sbagliare. Tutti insieme dovremo lavorare per far sì che il Milan, che è sopra a tutto e a tutti, torni a giocare la Champions il prossimo anno.”

Un altro difensore centrale?
“Sono contento dei giocatori che ho a disposizione, abbiamo Tomori e De Winter che possono stare in mezzo, ma anche altri come Pavlovic e Athekame che hanno altre caratteristiche. I campionati, nove volte su dieci li decidono quelli che entrano dalla panchina.”

Sulla formazione e l’attacco
“Lo abbiamo sempre fatto, Rafa sta giocando davanti e si è visto anche con Saelemaekers con Pulisic, quindi abbiamo già fatto questa cosa. Ha giocato anche Santi (Gimenez) e abbiamo pure Chukwueze, c'è grande spirito.”

Sul centrocampo
“Oggi deciderò se far giocare Modric titolare o no. Loftus-Cheek e Fofana dovranno fare almeno 15 gol in due, è un obiettivo che ho dato e al quale tengo.”

Aggiornamenti su Rafa Leao
“Non ce ne sono, sta bene e speriamo di averlo a Lecce altrimenti lo vedremo dopo la sosta.”

La squadra ereditata da una stagione complicata
“Bisogna dimostrarlo sul campo, con i fatti. La squadra ha degli ottimi valori, io dico sempre che quello bravo può diventare più bravo ma quello scarso rimane scarso, forse può migliorare un po' ma finisce lì. Qui abbiamo giocatori forti, ma dovremo farlo vedere sul campo a tutti, sarà fondamentale trovare un'alchimia di squadra, poi le dinamiche dell'anno scorso non voglio giudicarle, solo chi era dentro poteva sapere.”

Ahead of tomorrow night’s match, Massimiliano Allegri spoke at a press conference at Casa Milan. Here are his statements:

The group and the fans as a starting point?
“Tomorrow we start the season with an important match, I’m very curious also because I’m returning to the bench after a year. It was nice to see so many people in the Coppa Italia, and tomorrow there will be a big crowd again. We’ll have to work well and reach at least March in the best possible condition. The group? I’m very happy with the boys, they’re becoming a real team.”

The importance of work
“I always say that in the league you need to travel like on a cruise. You don’t need to go too fast, but stay steady. Next year we all know: we must return to playing in the Champions League, and we can only achieve that by taking care of desire, work, and details in training.”

His philosophy
“We must be a team with great respect for everyone, because matches are won on the pitch, tomorrow we don’t start 2-0 up… so to get results you need to be humble and smart. Every game will be tough, and there will need to be great respect for all opponents.”

AC Milan favorites for the Scudetto?
“As I said, there are at least eight teams, but as always the favorite is whoever won the league the previous season. We’ll need to be very good at maintaining balance.”

A back 3 or a back 4?
“It’s not about the formation, but about the characteristics we have. The important thing is to keep balance and order, then I’ll decide based on the qualities and traits of my players.”

The transfer market
“The club has done a good job both with departures and arrivals, every day we talk with the management to set objectives and see what could happen. But right now the most important thing is tomorrow night’s match.”

On Modric and the champion seen at Milanello
“There’s no need to talk technically about Modric… his career speaks for itself. He plays the ball more with the outside of his foot than the inside, and very few do that. He’s a very humble guy. He can’t have the physicality of ten years ago, but together we’ll manage him in the best way. He’s in great physical condition.”

Leaving Juventus and the excitement at Milan
“It wasn’t bad, we won the Coppa Italia in the last game and everyone knows what Juve meant to me. I’m very emotional and happy to return to the bench after a year and to do it with Milan, let’s hope I don’t cause too much damage (laughs, editor’s note).”

The push of San Siro like in 2010
“We’ll need to be the ones to fire them up through wins and performances, if we do that the stadium will definitely support us.”

Feeling the responsibility
“It’s not that if Allegri is here then Milan automatically wins. In big clubs it’s not about the coach or the player, it’s about the club’s history, and when you’re here you must feel the responsibility to work in a certain way and not make mistakes. Together we’ll have to ensure that Milan, which is above everything and everyone, returns to playing in the Champions League next year.”

Another central defender?
“I’m happy with the players I have, we’ve got Tomori and De Winter who can play centrally, but also others like Pavlovic and Athekame with different qualities. Championships, nine times out of ten, are decided by those coming off the bench.”

On the lineup and attack
“We’ve always done it, Rafa is playing up front and we also saw it with Saelemaekers with Pulisic, so we’ve already tried this. Santi (Gimenez) has also played and we also have Chukwueze, there’s a great spirit.”

On the midfield
“Today I’ll decide whether to start Modric or not. Loftus-Cheek and Fofana must score at least 15 goals between them, it’s a goal I’ve set and one I care about.”

“There’s nothing new, he’s fine and we hope to have him against Lecce, otherwise we’ll see him after the break.”

Taking charge of a team coming off a difficult season
“It must be proven on the pitch, with facts. The team has great qualities, I always say that a good player can become even better, but a poor one stays poor, maybe improves a little but that’s it. Here we have strong players, but we’ll need to show it on the field to everyone. It will be crucial to find team chemistry, as for last year’s dynamics I don’t want to judge, only those inside could know.”
