Il Milan torna da una trasferta complicatissima come quella di Verona con il migliore dei risultati possibili. Tre punti, porta inviolata, pochi rischi subiti.

Nonostante il risultato però i rossoneri si trovano di fronte a una partita tutt'altro che semplice.

Persi anticipatamente per infortuni Morata (tonsillite), Okafor, Pulisic e Lofuts-Cheek, i ragazzi di mister Fonseca devono rinunciare dopo appena una manciata di minuti anche a Rafael Leao.

L'ennesima doccia fretta si somma inesorabilmente al difficilissimo periodo che la squadra sta attraversando. Periodo fatto di contestazioni dentro e fuori lo stadio, di sonori fischi, di ampie critiche a dirigenza, rosa e proprietà.

Alla fine, come spesso già capitato in questa stagione, la decide Reijnders su imbucata perfetta di Fofana. I migliori della partita.

Intendiamoci, il Milan di questa sera è tutt'altro che un Milan perfetto. Lento, macchinoso, bloccato, privo di qualità. Le critiche sono sempre le stesse, e le si stanno facendo da fine agosto.

La stagione però va inesorabilmente avanti, e allora quest'oggi ogni tifoso deve anche aggrapparsi a quei (seppur pochi) aspetti positivi: al netto di una formazione ampiamente rimaneggiata sia a causa di infortuni sia a causa di scelte tecniche, il Milan esprime una sua solidità. Non solo. La squadra è stata in grado di sfruttare le poche, pochissime occasioni create per realizzare il gol che ha deciso la partita. Infine, soprattutto in un momento mentalmente molto difficile, i ragazzi riescono a rimanere compatti dopo l'ennesima doccia fredda dell'infortunio di Rafa, giocando la partita con quei pochi (in alcuni casi anche fuori ruolo) giocatori rimasti.

Certo. Le lacune ci sono. La qualità è poca. Alcuni acquisti (quelli che ancora vedono il campo) sono stati strapagati e non hanno minimamente le qualità per essere protagonisti in un Milan vincente. Ma questi difetti li sappiamo, e saranno inesorabilmente così fino a fine stagione.

This latest blow only adds to the extremely difficult period the team is enduring—a period marked by protests both inside and outside the stadium, loud jeers, and widespread criticism aimed at the management, squad, and ownership.

Let’s be clear: tonight’s Milan is far from a perfect team. Slow, clunky, stagnant, and lacking quality. The criticisms remain the same and have been voiced since late August.

However, the season marches on, and so today, every fan must also cling to the (albeit few) positive aspects: despite a heavily patched-up lineup due to injuries and tactical decisions, Milan showed a certain level of solidity. Not only that, but the team managed to capitalize on the very few chances it created to score and win the match. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly during such a mentally challenging time, the players managed to stay united after the blow of losing Rafa to injury, playing the game with the few remaining players available (some even out of position).

Of course, the flaws are there. The quality is lacking. Some signings (those who are still making appearances) were overpriced and do not remotely possess the qualities needed to be key players in a winning Milan side. But we already know these shortcomings, and they will inevitably remain until the end of the season.
