Sandro Tonali è tornato a parlare della sua squadra del cuore, il Milan. Così su Repubblica:

"Mi è capitato di pensare a quando potevo andare all’Inter. Non l’ho mai accettato: non perché non sia una squadra forte, ma non mi reputavo felice al 100%. Ogni giorno se ne parlava. Sentivo il mio procuratore e i dubbi erano grandi. La montagna che non volevo scavalcare.

La chiamata di Paolo Maldini ha cambiato tutto, mi ha fatto felice e ho detto: “O vado al Milan o resto al Brescia”. Me l’ha trasmesso mio papà, questo legame col Milan. Facevo colazione con la tazza rossonera di Gattuso e quando si è rotta ho costretto mia mamma a sistemarla pezzettino per pezzettino. Quando il trasferimento si è concretizzato, ho chiesto a Rino il permesso di indossare la sua n° 8".

Sandro Tonali has once again spoken about his lifelong love for AC Milan. In an interview with Repubblica, he said:

"I've sometimes thought back to when I could have joined Inter. I never accepted it—not because they aren’t a strong team, but because I didn’t feel 100% happy about it. It was talked about every day. I would speak to my agent, and my doubts were huge. It felt like a mountain I didn’t want to climb. Then Paolo Maldini’s call changed everything—it made me happy, and I said, ‘Either I go to Milan, or I stay at Brescia.’

My father passed this bond with Milan down to me. I used to have breakfast with Gattuso’s red-and-black mug, and when it broke, I made my mom fix it piece by piece. When my transfer to Milan finally happened, I even asked Rino for permission to wear his No. 8 jersey."
