Malick Thiaw, suo malgrado, si sta affermando come uno specialista degli autogol. Quello segnato contro la Fiorentina è il terzo della sua stagione. I primi due erano arrivati entrambi contro il Torino, sia all’andata che al ritorno. Con questo tris, il difensore tedesco guida la classifica degli autogol stagionali, superando Lautaro Giannetti dell’Udinese, fermo a quota due.

Non si vedeva un simile caso da 27 anni: per trovare un altro giocatore con tre autoreti in una sola stagione di Serie A bisogna tornare al campionato 1997/98, quando Jean-Pierre Cyprien del Lecce raggiunse lo stesso sfortunato traguardo. Quanto al record assoluto di autogol nella storia della Serie A, appartiene a Franco Baresi e Riccardo Ferri, entrambi autori di otto autoreti in carriera.

Malick Thiaw, albeit unwillingly, is becoming something of an own goal specialist. His latest mishap against Fiorentina marked his third own goal of the season. The previous two both came against Torino, one in the first leg and one in the return match.
