Simone Inzaghi, tecnico dell’Inter, ha parlato in conferenza stampa al termine del derby perso contro il Milan, valido per il ritorno delle semifinali di Coppa Italia

C'è delusione?
“Il finale di stagione va affrontato con fiducia e lucidità nell’analisi. Siamo dispiaciuti per la partita, ma questo è il calcio. Il primo tempo non doveva concludersi sull’0-1: il primo gol non andava concesso, era la prima volta che il Milan entrava in area. Sono stati bravi. Il raddoppio è nato da un episodio: sul primo dovevamo fare meglio, sul secondo siamo stati sfortunati. Nella ripresa siamo stati disordinati. La prima mezz’ora è stata una delle nostre migliori in un derby, poi è diventato difficile rimontare. Complimenti al Milan, che ha voluto questa finale più di noi.”

Volevi di più da chi gioca meno?
“Adesso cercare alibi tra stanchezza e rotazioni… Vorrei avere tutti disponibili per poter scegliere meglio. Negli ultimi tre derby non ho mai potuto schierare Thuram e Lautaro insieme. Ora stanno provando a rientrare. Ma non dobbiamo usare la stanchezza come scusa. È inaccettabile per noi subire un gol del genere.”

Stanchezza?
“Non voglio parlarne. Sarebbe troppo facile.”

Come ritrovare prestazione?
“Ho bisogno dell’aiuto di tutti, nessuno escluso. Vorrei riavere a disposizione Thuram, Zielinski e Dumfries. Ringrazio i tifosi per il loro supporto.”

A Roma ci saranno Thuram, Dumfries e Zielinski?
“In questo momento non ho certezze. Ogni partita per noi è come una finale del Mondiale. Abbiamo fiducia per domenica, ma al momento non ho conferme. Vedremo nei prossimi giorni.”

Is there disappointment?
"The end of the season must be approached with confidence and proper analysis. We’re disappointed by the result, but this is football. The first half should not have ended 0-1 — that first goal should’ve been avoided. It was Milan’s first real chance. They did well. The 0-2 came from a fortunate bounce: we could’ve done much better on the first, and were unlucky on the second. In the second half we were a bit disorganized. The first 30 minutes were some of our best in a derby. Then it became tough to come back. Credit to Milan, they wanted the final more than we did."

Did you expect more from those who play less?
"Now it’s easy to talk about fatigue and who could’ve done more… I’d like to have the full squad available to make better choices. In the last three derbies, I haven’t been able to field Thuram and Lautaro together. Now they’re trying to return. But we can’t use fatigue as an excuse. It’s unacceptable for a team like ours to concede a goal like that."

Fatigue?
"I absolutely don’t want to talk about it. It’s too easy."

How to recover performance-wise?
"I need everyone, no one excluded. I hope to have Thuram, Zielinski, and Dumfries back. I want to thank the fans, who gave us their full support."

Will Thuram, Dumfries and Zielinski be in Rome?
"Right now, I have no certainties. For us, every match is like a World Cup final. There’s optimism for Sunday, but no guarantees. We’ll see in the coming days."
