REIJNDERS: “MILANO È ROSSONERA. ORA VOGLIAMO LA COPPA”

Tijjani Reijnders ha parlato alla Gazzetta dello Sport, analizzando la stagione del Milan tra alti e bassi. Deluso per il campionato, soddisfatto per il percorso nelle coppe (Champions esclusa), il centrocampista olandese sta vivendo il suo miglior anno. Ha segnato quasi 20 gol tra club e nazionale ed è diventato un punto di riferimento anche fuori dal campo. Per molti è il miglior rossonero della stagione.

Sul derby vinto contro l’Inter:

“Milano è rossonera. Quest’anno l’Inter non ci ha mai battuti. Mercoledì è stato il miglior derby tra i cinque giocati. Prima della partita abbiamo parlato della possibilità di vincere due coppe. Siamo scesi in campo con quell’obiettivo. Il nuovo modulo ci aiuta, ma dobbiamo ancora crescere”.

Sul rinnovo col Milan:

“Giocare nel Milan era un sogno da bambino. Quando è arrivata la proposta di rinnovo, ho detto subito sì. Anche la mia famiglia si trova bene qui. Ringrazio il club per la velocità nell’accordo. Vincere la Supercoppa è stato bellissimo. Ora vogliamo vincere anche la Coppa Italia. A Roma dobbiamo solo pensare a portarla a casa”.

Il suo sogno:

“Voglio vincere trofei e aiutare il Milan a mettere la seconda stella. Amo questa maglia, è un onore indossarla”.

Sui limiti della stagione:

“Non siamo stati continui. Abbiamo perso punti in partite da vincere. Il pareggio con il Cagliari dopo la vittoria al Bernabeu spiega bene la nostra stagione. Ma contro la Lazio abbiamo dimostrato fame e qualità. Ora vogliamo chiudere bene e ripartire forte l’anno prossimo”.

Sulla finale con il Bologna:

“È una squadra forte, gioca bene e ha qualità in attacco. Ma noi siamo il Milan. Giocheremo in modo diverso rispetto al campionato e faremo meglio. Ci crediamo. Conosco Beukema e Odegaard dai tempi dell’AZ, magari sentirò Beukema nei prossimi giorni”.

Disappointed with the league campaign, but satisfied with the cup runs (Champions League excluded), the Dutch midfielder is having the best year of his career. “Playing for Milan was a childhood dream. When the renewal offer came, I said yes right away. My family is happy here too. I thank the club for how quickly they got the deal done. Winning the Supercoppa felt amazing. Now we want to win the Coppa Italia too. In Rome, we just need to focus on bringing the trophy home.”

His dream:

“I want to win trophies and help Milan earn the second star. I love this shirt, it’s an honor to wear it.”

On this season’s struggles:

“We lacked consistency. We dropped points in games we should’ve won. The draw with Cagliari after beating Real Madrid at the Bernabéu sums up our season. But against Lazio, we showed hunger and quality. Now we want to finish strong and start fresh next season.”

On the Coppa Italia final against Bologna:

“They’re a strong team, good on the ball, and have quality up front. But we’re Milan. We’ll play differently than in the league match and do better. We believe in ourselves. I know Beukema and Odegaard from my time at AZ, I might talk to Beukema in the next few days.”
