MONCADA: "LAVORIAMO AI RINNOVI DI THEO E MAIGNAN"

In casa Milan, mentre l’attenzione resta alta sul nome del futuro direttore sportivo e su quello del prossimo allenatore, anche la questione rinnovi contrattuali continua a tenere banco. Nel prepartita di ieri sera, a intervenire sull’argomento è stato il direttore tecnico Geoffrey Moncada: “I rinnovi di Theo e Maignan? Stiamo lavorando ogni giorno, con agenti e giocatori. Parliamo ogni giorno con loro. Siamo molto concentrati sulla fine della stagione, non credo sia il momento giusto”. Entrambe situazioni delicate, soprattutto quella relativa al terzino francese.

Non è mancato poi un riferimento a Sergio Conceiçao: “Ogni giorno lavoriamo con lui, sono tutti i giorni a Milanello con lui e Zlatan. Parliamo tutti i giorni con il suo staff. Siamo con lui, per noi non ci sono problemi: siamo contenti di Sergio e di come lavora per tornare ad un livello più importante. Se due trofei basterebbero per la riconferma? Due trofei sarebbero molto importanti, è da tanto che non vinciamo la Coppa Italia”.

Infine, una riflessione tattica: “Penso che l’allenatore abbia lavorato durante la sosta di marzo sul 3-4-3. Adesso possiamo avere altre opzioni: i terzini più alti, la difesa più compatta, un sistema che permette tanta libertà ai giocatori. Anche Pioli ha giocato a tre due anni fa, per esempio quando abbiamo vinto contro il Tottenham: è per dare più equilibrio alla squadra”.

While the spotlight remains on the search for a new sporting director and head coach, Milan is also dealing with several key contract renewals. Ahead of the match, technical director Geoffrey Moncada addressed the situation: “The renewals of Theo and Maignan? We’re working every day, with agents and players. We speak with them daily. We’re very focused on the end of the season; I don’t think this is the right moment.” Both renewals are delicate matters, especially in the case of the French left-back.

He also touched on Sergio Conceiçao: “We work with him every day, I’m at Milanello with him and Zlatan every day. We talk daily with his staff. We’re with him, we have no issues: we’re happy with Sergio and how he’s working to get the team back to a higher level. Would two trophies be enough to confirm him? Two trophies would be huge—we haven’t won the Coppa Italia in a long time.”

Lastly, he offered a tactical insight: “I think the coach worked on the 3-4-3 system during the March break. Now we have more options: higher full-backs, a more compact defense, a system that gives players more freedom. Even Pioli played with three at the back two years ago, like when we beat Tottenham. It’s all about giving the team more balance.”
