Santi Gimenez segna il suo primo gol a San Siro e regala tre punti importantissimi al Milan.

I rossoneri, scesi in campo con una formazione rimaneggiata in vista del difficile ritorno di Champions League previsto per martedì sera, giocano un primo tempo abbastanza sotto tono. Ritmo che agevola il Verona, incapace si di attaccare ma comoda nel disinnescare lo sterile gioco del diavolo. Diavolo che ha comunque due buone occasioni: una con Gimenez (che segna ma in netta posizione di fuorigioco) e Musah, che da due passi non centra la porta sparando alto sopra la traversa.

Conceicao aspetta l'intervallo e poi, non soddisfatto della prestazione di alcuni dei suoi, decide di optare subito per due cambi: Leao per Sottil e Jimenez per Walker.

Sono proprio i due subentrati a indirizzare la partita al 75mo. Jimenez scodella dal limite dell'area uno splendido pallone per Leao. Fatta fuori di netto la difesa veronese, Rafa riesce a mettere in mezzo per un facile tap-in di Gimenez. È 1-0 Milan

I rossoneri vincono una partita che fino a fine primo tempo sembrava bloccata, restando così in corsa per un posto in Champions League.

Santi Gimenez scores his first goal at San Siro and secures three crucial points for Milan.

The Rossoneri, fielding a heavily rotated lineup ahead of Tuesday night's tough Champions League return leg, play a rather lackluster first half. The slow tempo benefits Verona, who struggle to attack but comfortably neutralize Milan’s sterile play. Despite this, the Rossoneri create two good chances: one with Gimenez, who finds the net but is clearly offside, and another with Musah, who fires over the crossbar from close range.

At halftime, Conceicao, unhappy with some of his players' performances, immediately makes two substitutions: Leao replaces Sottil, and Jimenez comes on for Walker.
