MILAN NAPOLI 0-2. DIFFICILE FARE PIÙ DI COSÌ

Milan Napoli finisce 2-0 per i ragazzi di Antonio Conte. Per il Milan prima sconfitta interna in questa stagione di Serie A.

Il tabellina recita 61% possesso palla a favore dei rossoneri che vincono anche per 13-9 la sfida dei tiri e per 5-4 quella dei tiri in porta.

La differenza? La qualità. E il Milan, specie stasera con le innumerevoli assenze, ne ha decisamente meno del Napoli.

Allo stop per infortunio di Gabbia si uniscono anche quelli di Theo Hernandez e Reijnders per squalifica (non scontata a causa della controversa decisione di Bologna). Ciliegina sulla torta il forfait dell'ultimo minuto di Pulisic. L'americano parte dalla panchina a causa di una sindrome influenzale, subentrando per l'ultima mezz'ora sfoggiando come prevedibile una condizione non eccelsa.

Panchina anche per Rafa Leao. A lui viene infatti gli viene preferito Okafor.

Venendo al campo risulta difficile commentare una partita che, specie per le assenze, aveva già un destino segnato a partire dal fischio d'inizio.

La partita, che già sarebbe stata difficile da affrontare con i titolari, diventa un ostacolo insormontabile per le riserve che oggi il Milan ha in rosa. Riserve (la maggior parte approdate nelle ultime sessioni di mercato) che si sono rivelate ancora una volta assolutamente inadeguate per competere ad alti livelli non solo in Europa ma anche in Italia.

Detto ciò, bisogna riconoscere come nonostante tutto i ragazzi di Fonseca ci abbiano provato.

Vero, vanno subito sotto di un gol per mano di Lukaku, ma invece di affondare i padroni di casa tengono botta riuscendo anche a mettere sotto il Napoli per buona parte del primo tempo (e in generale della partita).

Qui viene però fuori tutta la differenza tecnica tra i rossoneri e gli azzurri. Dopo i numerosi tentativi falliti dei milanisti infatti, come nelle più classiche delle partite, al secondo tiro in porta partenopeo arriva il raddoppio di Kvaratskhelia che di fatto sancisce la fine delle speranze di una rimonta.

Difficile aggiungere altro su questa partita. Chi era a disposizione ha fatto il massimo e ha offerto tutto quello che poteva offrire. Come però ampiamente prevedibile ciò non è stato sufficiente per battere il Napoli.

Non resta quindi molto da fare se non voltare pagina e pensare al match di Sabato a Monza. La classifica, anche a causa di un vergognoso asterisco che accompagnerà il Milan fino almeno a febbraio, inizia a farsi psicologicamente molto pericolosa.

Milan-Napoli ends 2-0 for Antonio Conte’s team. For Milan, it’s their first home defeat of this Serie A season.

The stats show 61% possession in favor of the Rossoneri, who also led the shot count 13-9 and the shots on target 5-4.

The difference? Quality. And Milan, especially tonight with numerous absences, clearly has less of it than Napoli.

Alongside Gabbia’s injury, Theo Hernandez and Reijnders were also missing due to suspensions (not served due to Bologna’s controversial decision). To top it off, Pulisic had to pull out at the last minute. The American started on the bench with the flu, entering only for the final half-hour and, predictably, not at his best.

Rafa Leao also started on the bench, as Okafor was chosen over him.

As for the match itself, it’s hard to comment on a game that, due to these absences, seemed destined from the first whistle.

Already challenging enough with a full squad, the game became an insurmountable task for the substitutes that Milan had available. These backups (some of whom joined in the most recent transfer windows) have again proven inadequate for competing at a high level, not only in Europe but also in Italy.

That said, we have to recognize that despite everything, Fonseca’s boys did make an effort.

Yes, they quickly went down a goal to Lukaku, but rather than collapsing, the Rossoneri held strong, even managing to pressure Napoli for much of the first half (and overall in the match).

But here’s where the technical gap between the Rossoneri and the Azzurri becomes clear. After several missed opportunities by the home side, in classic fashion, Napoli’s second shot on target resulted in a goal by Kvaratskhelia, effectively ending any comeback hopes.

There’s not much else to add about this match. Those who were available did their best and gave all they could. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to beat Napoli.

The only thing left now is to turn the page and focus on Saturday’s match at Monza. The standings, compounded by an unfortunate asterisk that will likely shadow Milan until at least February, are beginning to feel psychologically daunting.
