MILAN CREMONESE 1-2. INIZIO SHOCK DI CAMPIONATO

Prima il colpo di testa vincente di Baschirotto, poi la risposta di Pavlovic che illude i rossoneri, e infine nella ripresa il capolavoro balistico di Bonazzoli che gela San Siro. Così il Milan cade all’esordio in campionato contro la Cremonese, sconfitta 1-2 al termine di una prova opaca sotto molti aspetti. Nonostante l’arrivo di Massimiliano Allegri, considerato da tanti l’uomo giusto per restituire equilibrio e solidità a un contesto complicato, la formazione rossonera non riesce a iniziare con il piede giusto, davanti a una curva rimasta in silenzio per protesta.

“Se si guarda alla prestazione abbiamo calciato molto in porta. La differenza la fa la cattiveria anche nel difendere: i due gol erano evitabili”, ha spiegato Allegri subito dopo la gara. Il Milan ha provato a spingere fin da subito, ma con scarsa incisività, senza concretizzare le poche chance create nella parte iniziale del match. Il primo squillo di Bonazzoli, respinto da Maignan, ha anticipato il vantaggio di Baschirotto: cross di Zerbin, difensore lasciato libero di colpire di testa e palla in rete, con Pavlovic disattento nella marcatura. Errori che hanno fatto infuriare Allegri, tecnico che sull’attenzione difensiva ha costruito gran parte dei suoi successi.

Il pareggio di Pavlovic nel finale del primo tempo, su traversone di Estupiñan (non brillante ma autore comunque dell’assist), ha ridato speranza al Milan, che ha iniziato la ripresa con intensità, producendo quattro occasioni in pochi minuti. Poi però il vuoto. Le statistiche raccontano 24 tiri totali – contro i 4 della Cremonese – e 6 nello specchio contro 3. Ma a pesare è stata la rovesciata spettacolare di Federico Bonazzoli, in pieno stile figurina, simile a quella già segnata con la Salernitana nel 2022 contro gli stessi rossoneri.

“Sapevamo che loro hanno buoni crossatori e chiudono bene l’area. Dobbiamo lavorare meglio in queste situazioni, non possiamo prendere due gol a partita – ha aggiunto Allegri nell’analisi –. Dobbiamo migliorare quando non percepiamo il pericolo: se in area siamo in 5 contro 3 non possiamo non prenderla noi, così come sulla corsa di Pezzella prima del 2-1”. Un segnale evidente che non è ancora il Milan di Allegri. Tra i pochi a salvarsi, un Modric quasi quarantenne, probabilmente il migliore dei suoi, in una squadra lenta, prevedibile, confusa e con le stesse amnesie difensive della scorsa stagione.

Lo stesso Allegri ha ricordato più volte nelle scorse settimane di non possedere la bacchetta magica, ma è chiaro che molto andrà corretto in casa rossonera, anche in attesa del rinforzo offensivo di mercato, visto che anche stasera Gimenez è risultato evanescente. All’opposto, la Cremonese ha saputo sfruttare le pochissime occasioni costruite e inizia la sua avventura da neopromossa con un successo prestigioso a San Siro, che le regala entusiasmo e fiducia.

Despite the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri, considered by many the right man to restore balance and order to a complicated environment, the team failed to start on the right foot, with the supporters’ curve remaining silent in protest.

“Looking at the performance, we had many shots on goal. The difference was the aggression in defending: both goals could have been avoided,” explained Allegri immediately after the match. AC Milan tried to push from the beginning, but lacked sharpness, failing to capitalize on the few chances created early on. The first warning came from Bonazzoli, denied by Maignan, before Baschirotto opened the scoring: cross from Zerbin, the defender left unmarked to head the ball into the net, with Pavlovic careless in his marking. Mistakes that infuriated Allegri, a coach who has built his career on defensive discipline.

The equalizer from Pavlovic before halftime, on a cross from Estupiñan (not outstanding but still delivering the assist), gave AC Milan new belief. They began the second half with intensity, creating four chances in a matter of minutes, but then faded. The numbers say 24 total shots – against Cremonese’s 4 – and 6 on target compared to 3. Yet what made the difference was the spectacular overhead kick by Federico Bonazzoli, in true sticker-album fashion, reminiscent of the goal he scored for Salernitana in 2022 against the Rossoneri.

“We knew they had good crossers and that they close the box well. We need to work better in these situations; we cannot concede two goals per match – continued Allegri in his analysis –. We must improve when we don’t perceive danger: if we are 5 against 3 in the box, we can’t fail to win the ball, just as with Pezzella’s run before the 2-1.” It is evident that this is not yet Allegri’s AC Milan. Among the few positives was a nearly 39-year-old Modric, likely the best on the pitch, in a team that looked slow, predictable, confused, and plagued by the same defensive lapses as last season.

Allegri has repeated several times in recent weeks that he does not have a magic wand, but it is clear that much needs to be adjusted within the Rossoneri, while awaiting an attacking reinforcement from the transfer market, since once again Gimenez was ineffective. By contrast, Cremonese took advantage of their few opportunities and began their campaign as a newly promoted side with a prestigious victory at San Siro, a result that inevitably provides a significant boost of confidence.
