LA RINASCITA NON PUÒ AVVENIRE CON LA CESSIONE DI REIJNDERS

Nonostante il mancato accesso alla Champions League rappresenti un duro colpo, non è obbligatorio dover cedere Tijjani Reijnders per compensare i mancati introiti. Sebbene rappresenti una soluzione piuttosto immediata e tutto sommato pratica, non è certo l’unica percorribile. Tuttavia, i segnali fanno pensare che sarà proprio il centrocampista olandese il principale indiziato a partire, con il Manchester City che lo avrebbe già inserito nella propria lista dei desideri, e con una trattativa che pare già a uno stadio avanzato.
È vero che, dopo una stagione così deludente, i giocatori del Milan non suscitano grande interesse sul mercato, e che Tijjani è stato tra i pochi a offrire prestazioni convincenti. Ma il nuovo corso rossonero non può cominciare dalla rinuncia al suo giocatore più continuo, uno dei migliori assieme a Christian Pulisic. L’ex AZ Alkmaar è stato tra i pochi a non ricevere critiche dai tifosi, che non meritano di veder partire uno dei riferimenti tecnici della squadra. Al contrario, sono proprio calciatori come lui quelli da cui ripartire, per ricostruire dopo una stagione fallimentare che sta finalmente volgendo al termine.
Il Manchester City sembra pronto a offrire una cifra importante, che garantirebbe al club di via Aldo Rossi una consistente plusvalenza. Comprensibile dunque la tentazione di vendere, almeno da un punto di vista strettamente economico. Ma l’idea di rilancio del Milan non può prendere il via dalla cessione dell’olandese, che tra l’altro ha appena prolungato il contratto fino al 2030. Che segnale darebbe il club cedendo il miglior interprete di questa annata? I dirigenti devono valutare opzioni differenti: cedere elementi in esubero o profili che non hanno più la motivazione giusta per restare a Milanello. Il nuovo Milan deve ripartire da Reijnders, che non può diventare il capro espiatorio.

Despite the setback of missing out on the Champions League, it’s not necessary to part ways with Tijjani Reijnders to fill the gap in lost revenue. While offloading him might be a quick and relatively easy solution, it’s by no means the only one available. Still, all signs suggest that the Dutch midfielder could be the one sacrificed, as Manchester City has reportedly made him a prime target, with negotiations already appearing to be at an advanced stage.
It's true that, after such a disappointing season, there isn’t a long line of suitors for Milan players, and Tijjani was one of the few bright spots. However, the Rossoneri’s rebuild cannot begin with the departure of their most consistent performer, one of the top contributors alongside Christian Pulisic. The former AZ Alkmaar man is among the few who escaped fan criticism—those same fans do not deserve to see a technical leader leave. In fact, it’s from players like him that the club must start again after this dismal campaign, which is fortunately nearing its end.
Manchester City is reportedly ready to offer a significant sum that would generate a healthy profit for the club at Via Aldo Rossi. From a financial perspective, the temptation to sell is understandable. Yet, the Rossoneri’s rebuild cannot commence by parting with the Dutchman, especially since he recently extended his contract through 2030. What message would Milan be sending by selling the season’s standout player? The management needs to explore other avenues—perhaps moving on from surplus players or those lacking motivation to remain at Milanello. The new Milan must be built around Reijnders, who cannot be the sacrificial lamb.
