JOVIC: L'EROE CHE NON TI ASPETTI, CON UN FUTURO ANCORA TUTTO DA SCRIVERE

Fino alla pubblicazione ufficiale delle formazioni ieri sera, tutti si aspettavano Tammy Abraham come centravanti titolare del Milan nel derby contro l’Inter, semifinale di ritorno della Coppa Italia. E invece, a sorpresa, Sergio Conceiçao ha confermato Luka Jovic dal primo minuto, per la terza gara consecutiva dopo quelle contro Udinese e Atalanta. E la risposta del serbo? Una splendida doppietta e una prestazione da incorniciare.

È stato lui l’eroe della serata rossonera. Lui che fino a poco tempo fa era fuori dai radar tecnici. Ora, dopo aver superato anche alcuni problemi fisici, ha scalato le gerarchie ed è il centravanti titolare del Milan, davanti a Abraham e, soprattutto, a Santiago Gimenez, il grande acquisto di gennaio. Oltre ai due gol da vero attaccante, Jovic ha impressionato per l’enorme mole di lavoro: ha supportato i compagni, collegato i reparti, gestito palloni complicati e lottato su ogni fronte. Una prestazione totale che gli è valsa il titolo di migliore in campo da parte di tutti i pagellisti.

Nel post-gara, Luka si è presentato ai microfoni di Mediaset con un grande sorriso: “Era una partita veramente importante per noi. Non stiamo facendo bene in Serie A, lo sappiamo… Oggi dovevamo mostrare le nostre qualità e l’abbiamo fatto. Andiamo a Roma!”.

A parlare di lui è stato anche Conceiçao, che ha avuto un ruolo chiave nel suo recupero fisico e mentale: “Jovic sta lavorando benissimo nelle ultime 3-4 settimane, al massimo. Ha perso anche un po’ di kg, era importante. Ci dà quel qualcosina che volevamo per la partita. Non dà riferimenti ai difensori, lavora bene con i centrocampisti. Volevamo che facesse da sponda per poi arrivare nei corridoi laterale”.

Ricordiamo che Jovic è in scadenza a giugno, ma se continuerà così, il Milan difficilmente si lascerà sfuggire l’occasione di rinnovare il suo contratto.

But Sergio Conceiçao surprised all by starting Luka Jovic for the third match in a row, following his appearances against Udinese and Atalanta. And how did the Serbian respond? With a brilliant brace and a standout performance.

He was the hero of the night for the Rossoneri, someone who not long ago was on the fringes of the squad. Now, after overcoming physical issues, he has climbed the ranks and is currently Milan’s first-choice striker, ahead of Abraham and especially Santiago Gimenez, the club’s major January signing. Beyond the two clinical goals, Jovic impressed with his all-around contribution: supporting teammates, linking play, cleaning up messy balls, and fighting for every inch. A complete performance that earned him man of the match honors across the board.

After the game, he showed up to Mediaset with a big smile: “It was a really important match for us. We’re not doing well in Serie A, we know that… Today we had to show our quality and we did. We’re heading to Rome!”

Conceiçao also praised him, acknowledging his role in Jovic’s revival: “Jovic has been working extremely well for the past 3-4 weeks. He’s lost some weight, which was important. He gives us exactly what we needed for this game. He doesn’t give defenders reference points, and links up well with the midfielders. We wanted him to act as a pivot to help us get into the wide channels.”

Jovic’s contract expires in June, but if he keeps performing like this, it’s hard to imagine Milan won’t rush to extend it.
