Dopo una sconfitta e un pareggio, con in mezzo il risultato di parità contro l'Inter in Coppa Italia, il Milan torna alla vittoria in grande stile: 0-4 contro l'Udinese alla BluEnergy Arena, grazie alle reti di Leao e Pavlovic nel primo tempo e di Theo Hernandez e Reijnders nel secondo. Con questa vittoria, i rossoneri restano al nono posto in classifica, ma si avvicinano alla zona europea, in attesa dei risultati delle altre partite.
Il nuovo modulo Un fattore determinante è stato il 3-4-3, che ha dato maggiore equilibrio alla difesa e libertà in attacco. "Quando c'è stata la sosta, abbiamo lavorato su questo sistema," ha spiegato Conceicao. "Poi non potevo cambiare, perché molti giocatori sono tornati solo due giorni prima della partita. I ragazzi hanno abbracciato questa idea, sia con la palla che senza, con i terzini più protetti. Avevo buone sensazioni, che oggi sono state confermate sul campo. Oggi sono tre punti, pensiamo già alla prossima partita. Ho visto una squadra solida, compatta, come vogliamo noi. È importante avere settimane libere."
Il modulo ha convinto anche Gabbia: "Mi è piaciuto molto giocare in questo modo. Il mister è stato bravo: in pochi giorni ci ha spiegato chiaramente ciò che vuole, e questa sera ha funzionato. Ci ha dato solidità, sia in difesa che per tutta la squadra. È stata un'ottima iniziativa." Anche Leao ha apprezzato: "Siamo più compatti, c'è un uomo in più in difesa, e in attacco siamo più liberi di agire. Mi trovo bene con Pulisic, con Luka Jovic e con Abraham, che è entrato molto bene. Possiamo fare davvero bene." Con questo modulo, aumentano i giocatori a centrocampo e si rafforza la difesa. Forse era proprio ciò di cui aveva bisogno questo Milan.

Leao also liked it: "We’re more compact, there’s one more man defending, and up front we have more freedom to attack. I feel good with Pulisic, with Luka Jovic, and with Abraham, who came in very well. We can do really well." With this formation, there are more players in midfield, and an extra man is placed in defense. Maybe that’s exactly what this Milan needed.
