Sul lavoro di squadra: "Come in campo, anche qui il gioco di squadra è la cosa più importante di tutte. È quello che ho detto a Gerry Cardinale quando ho accettato di lavorare con lui. Gli ho detto chiaramente: 'Non è più un one-man show. Non vengo qui per salvare nessuno. Se pensi che sia così, lasciamo perdere subito. Io non sono qui per salvare la situazione. Sono qui per imparare dagli altri e aiutarli a dare il meglio. Imparare. Aiutare. Teamwork'".

Sul nuovo ambiente di lavoro: "Qui succedono sempre situazioni nuove. Non sono ancora abituato a tutto, quindi osservo, imparo, accumulo esperienza. Dico la mia quando serve, ma se non mi sento sicuro, non vado a dire agli altri cosa devono fare nel loro campo. Se non è la mia area, mi fido di chi è davanti a me. Lui deve prendere la decisione giusta. Ma una cosa è chiara: io mi aspetto risultati. Ogni cosa che facciamo, deve portare risultati. Non siamo una fondazione di beneficenza. Siamo un club di calcio.
