GIMENEZ: "SOGNO LO SCUDETTO. MODRIC È INCREDIBILE"

Santiago Gimenez ha parlato ai microfoni di Sky, toccando diversi temi legati alla sua estate, alla squadra e agli obiettivi stagionali.

Sulla sua estate: "Mi sento molto bene, grazie a Dio. Ho potuto godermi il tempo con i miei cari, con la mia famiglia. Ora ho tanta energia per quello che verrà e sicuramente darò tutto per il club”.

Su Allegri: "Il sentimento è molto buono, molto positivo. Credo sia un allenatore che unisce molto la squadra, che lavora con grande intensità. Dal primo giorno a Milanello sono stato sicuro che sarà una grande stagione. Cosa mi ha sorpreso di lui? Come si dice in Italia, quando lavori devi andare forte, ma poi c’è spazio per la gioia, per la famiglia, per la squadra. Credo che Allegri abbia la combinazione migliore”.

Sull’atmosfera a Milanello: "Se si respira un'atmosfera diversa rispetto ai mesi scorsi? Sì, l’impressione è molto bella e anche gli obiettivi sono molto alti, perché siamo in un club grande come il Milan. Dobbiamo esserne all’altezza, lavorare duro e sono sicuro che sarà una bella stagione”.

Sullo scudetto: "Se la parola scudetto è già presente nello spogliatoio? Sì, è sempre un sogno vincere lo scudetto. Bisogna lavorare giorno dopo giorno, passo dopo passo. L’arrivo di Modric, che ha vinto tanti titoli, sicuramente ci motiverà”.

Su Modric: "Incredibile. Dal primo giorno si vede la sua qualità. È un giocatore che serve molto gli attaccanti, e noi bomber siamo contenti di avere uno come lui”.

Sul suo momento: "Sono lo stesso Santiago, ma con più fame, più voglia e soprattutto più passione. Nel mercato invernale è difficile, nuova squadra, situazione non semplice. Ma ora ricomincia tutto da zero. Ho tanta voglia e credo molto in me stesso e nella squadra. Daremo tutto per raggiungere gli obiettivi”.

Sull’arrivo di un altro centravanti: "Se mi preoccupa? No, al contrario. Sarebbe una gioia e una soddisfazione. Più la rosa è ampia e competitiva, più si cresce. Lavorerò per segnare tanti gol”.

Sul numero di maglia: "Terrò la maglia numero 7. Il 7 è storico al Milan e non si cambia”.

Su Pippo Inzaghi: "Se è stato uno dei miei idoli? Sì, è un’icona del Milan. Anche se ero piccolo, ho ammirato tanto Shevchenko, che ha vinto il Pallone d’Oro con il 7, e Kaká, per la sua fede, la sua qualità e le origini sudamericane”.

Sul Milan senza coppe europee: "Se è un problema o un’opportunità? Il problema è stato l’anno scorso, quando non ci siamo qualificati. Ora abbiamo una nuova opportunità e dobbiamo sfruttarla”.

Su cosa non è andato nella scorsa stagione: "Tanti dettagli: partite perse o pareggiate negli ultimi minuti, episodi come l’espulsione di Theo in Champions. Piccole cose che hanno fatto la differenza”.

Sul suo sogno per questa stagione: "Vincere lo scudetto con il Milan. Non faccio promesse, ma il Milan guarda sempre avanti, anche nelle difficoltà. Sono sicuro che sarà così anche quest’anno”.
