FURLANI SVELA IL NUOVO MILAN: “TARE E ALLEGRI PILASTRI, MAIGNAN RESTA"

Durante un incontro con la stampa a Casa Milan, l’amministratore delegato Giorgio Furlani ha fatto il punto sul nuovo assetto del club, l’arrivo di Tare e Allegri, il mercato e il ruolo di Ibrahimovic.

Come apre Furlani l’incontro con la stampa?

“L’ultima volta ho detto che era il momento di guardare avanti. Dopo la fine del campionato abbiamo annunciato i primi due acquisti: Igli Tare come direttore sportivo con esperienza e Max Allegri come allenatore. Non saranno gli unici acquisti, ma non servirà una rivoluzione. Aggiungeremo i tasselli giusti per essere competitivi e puntare a vincere.”

Il Milan sta cambiando l’area sportiva?

“Sì, da questa stagione abbiamo cambiato approccio. Serviva una figura come Tare. In lui abbiamo visto la possibilità di ottenere risultati insieme. Per l’allenatore, volevamo esperienza e conoscenza del calcio italiano: per questo abbiamo scelto Allegri.”

Valutate anche giocatori con stipendi alti?

“Il calcio è al centro del progetto Milan. Tutte le risorse vengono usate per migliorare le prestazioni sportive, ma ci sono limiti da rispettare. Dobbiamo decidere dove investire, cercando il massimo rendimento.”

Che tipo di mercato sarà?

“I nostri giocatori piacciono perché sono forti. È vero che l’anno scorso alcuni non hanno reso al meglio, ma restano validi. Non ci sarà una rivoluzione, ma ci sono tanti interessamenti. Questo non vuol dire che venderemo.”

Che ruolo ha Ibrahimovic oggi?

“Zlatan non fa parte dell’organico, ma ha un ruolo importante nel progetto. Collabora con la proprietà (RedBird) su temi sportivi, commerciali e istituzionali. Ha esperienza in tanti campionati e un grande bagaglio di conoscenze.”

Perché la scelta di Tare ha richiesto tempo?

“È normale per un ruolo così centrale. Ci abbiamo messo il tempo giusto. Ora siamo convinti di aver fatto la scelta corretta e lavoriamo tutti nella stessa direzione.”

Maignan può ancora rinnovare?

“C’è stato interesse da un club inglese, ma non è stato ritenuto interessante. Mike è importante per noi, sia lui che il suo agente si sono comportati con correttezza. Vedremo nel medio-lungo termine.”

Pulisic rinnoverà?

“Ha ancora tre anni di contratto. Non è un’urgenza. Per noi è un giocatore molto importante.”

Basta solo la coppia ds-allenatore nei momenti difficili?

“Non c’è una divisione tra sport e società. Siamo un’unica squadra. Nei momenti difficili la società sarà sempre vicina al direttore e all’allenatore.”

Perché Allegri?

“Conosce bene il Milan e la Serie A. È l’allenatore in attività che ha vinto di più. Ha entusiasmo e voglia di fare bene. Anche Tare ha subito detto che era l’uomo giusto per ripartire.”

Che ruolo ha Moncada oggi?

“È con noi da sette anni. Rimane direttore tecnico ed è fondamentale. Ha grandi competenze nel trovare talenti, soprattutto in Francia ma anche nel resto del mondo. Resta centrale nel nostro progetto.”

How did Furlani open the press conference?

“Last time I spoke, I said it was time to look ahead. After the end of the season, we announced our first two signings: Igli Tare as sporting director and Max Allegri as coach. They won’t be the only ones—we don’t need a full revolution, just the right pieces to stay competitive and aim to win.”

Is Milan changing its sporting structure?

“Yes, starting this season we’ve changed our approach. We needed someone like Tare. We saw the chance to achieve results together. For the coach, we wanted someone with experience in Italian football—Allegri was the clear choice.”

Are you considering players with high salaries?

“Football is at the center of Milan’s project. All resources are used to improve sporting performance, but within certain limits. We have to choose where to invest to get the best results.”

What kind of transfer window can we expect?

“Our players are getting interest because they’re strong. It’s true some underperformed last year, but they’re still valuable. We don’t need a revolution, but there is a lot of interest. That doesn’t mean we’ll sell.”

What’s Ibrahimovic’s role now?

“Zlatan isn’t technically on staff, but he plays a key role. He works with ownership (RedBird) on sporting, commercial, and institutional matters. He has huge experience in different leagues and deep football knowledge.”

Why did the choice of Tare take time?

“It’s normal to take time for such a key role. We took the time we needed. Now we’re sure we made the right decision and we’re all working in the same direction.”

Can Maignan still renew?

“There was interest from an English club, but it wasn’t compelling. Mike is important to us, and both he and his agent acted properly. We’ll see in the medium to long term.”

Will Pulisic renew?

“He still has three years on his contract. It’s not urgent. He’s very important for us.”

Are coach and sporting director enough in tough times?

“There’s no split between the sporting side and the rest of the club. We’re one team. In difficult moments, the club will be there to support both the coach and the sporting director.”

Why Allegri?

“He knows Milan and Serie A well. He’s the most successful active coach in Italy. He’s excited, motivated, and understands the club. Tare also said right away he was the right man to start again.”

What’s Moncada’s role now?

“He’s been with us for seven years. He remains technical director and is essential. He’s excellent at spotting talent, especially in France but also worldwide. He stays central to our project.”
