Il Milan crolla nel posticipo domenicale a Firenze.

Una partita pazza, con un De Gea super protagonista che disinnesca due rigori. Il primo lo para a un pessimo Theo Hernandez nei minuti di recupero del primo tempo, il secondo ad Abraham nella ripresa.

Theo Hernandez che oltre al rigore sbagliato si rende un protagonista in negativo della serata. In primis provocando al 22' il rigore del possibile 1-0 disinnescato da Maignan ai danni di Kean, e poi facendosi espellere a fine partita per rosso diretto. Un pessimo modo di festeggiare il compleanno per lui.

I tre errori dal dischetto sono tutti sintomo della confusione che regna sovrana in campo per tutta la partita.

Il Milan crea con le sue stesse mani la peggior serata horror possibile. Prima subisce gol dall'ex Adli e poi prende il gol del 2-1 da Gudmundsson su un'azione partita direttamente da rinvio dal fondo del portiere.

A nulla vale il seppur bel gol di Pulisic del momentaneo 1-1.

I rossoneri arrivano nuovamente alla sosta in difficoltà. Peggior modo non c'era per dover trascorrere 2 settimane senza calcio giocato.

La squadra appare ancora una volta in confusione, sia dal punto di vista tattico (le due punte Morata-Abraham non rendono assolutamente come invece visto nel derby), sia soprattutto da un punto di vista mentale. È matematico come il Milan crolli ogni volta che debba esserci la partita decisiva per confermare quanto di buono fatto fin ora.

Ancora da segnalare purtroppo gli ingressi horror dalla panchina, con giocatori che dimostrano ancora una volta (in negativo) il perchè non vengano abitualmente impiegati.

Sicuramente parte della colpa deve ricadere sul tecnico Fonseca, che in fin dei conti è ancora allenatore del Milan solo ed esclusivamente per il tanto buono quanto inaspettato risultato del derby, ma deve anche ricadere su una rosa che evidentemente non presenta giocatori capaci di fare la differenza per un intero campionato nè dal punto di vista tecnico nè dal punto di vista caratteriale.

Infine, una riflessione andrebbe anche fatta su chi si è occupato di comporre e selezionare gli elementi di questa rosa. Rosa che è stata frutto di importanti quanto costosi cambi.

Questa riflessione è doverosa perchè è vero che in campo scendono i giocatori, ma è vero anche che vi è qualcuno incaricato e pagato per selezionare le figure più idonee da far giocare ad alto livello nel Milan.

Infine, forse varrebbe la pena ricordarsi che una rosa si compone sia di giocatori sia di un allenatore e di figure che devono accompagnare la crescita dei ragazzi non solo dal punto di vista sportivo ma anche da quello umano. E questo negli ultimi anni sembra essere stato dimenticato.

Due settimane per schiarissi le idee. Due settimane per fare un punto della situazione mettendo da parte orgoglio e pregiudizi per capire che Milan si vuole essere per questa stagione.

Nel mentre siamo sesti in campionato, con 11 punti realizzati in 7 partite.

Milan collapses in the Sunday night match in Florence.

A crazy game, with De Gea as the standout hero, saving two penalties. The first one was stopped against a dreadful Theo Hernandez in stoppage time of the first half, and the second against Abraham early in the second half.

Theo Hernandez, aside from missing the penalty, became a negative protagonist of the night. First, he caused a penalty in the 22nd minute, potentially leading to a 1-0 score, which Maignan denied to Kean's detriment, and then he got sent off with a straight red at the end of the match. A terrible way to celebrate his birthday.

The three missed penalties all reflect the confusion reigning on the pitch throughout the game.

Milan crafted its own nightmare evening. First, conceding a goal to former player Adli, and then allowing the 2-1 goal from Gudmundsson, who scored from a play that started with the goalkeeper’s goal kick.

The Rossoneri once again head into the break in crisis. There couldn't have been a worse way to spend two weeks without football.

The team appears confused once again, both tactically (the Morata-Abraham duo completely underperformed compared to what was seen in the derby) and, more importantly, mentally. It seems inevitable that Milan collapses every time they face a decisive match to confirm their good progress so far.

Unfortunately, the poor performances from the substitutes once again showed why they’re not regularly employed.

Surely, some of the blame must fall on coach Fonseca, who remains Milan’s manager solely due to the unexpectedly good derby result. But blame must also be placed on a squad that evidently lacks players capable of making a difference over an entire season, both technically and in terms of character.

Finally, a reflection is needed on those responsible for assembling and selecting the squad. This team is the result of significant, expensive changes.

Such reflection is necessary because, while it’s true that players take the field, someone is tasked with and paid to select the right individuals to play at a high level for Milan.

Lastly, it might be worth remembering that a squad consists of not only players but also a coach and staff who must support their personal growth both athletically and as people. This seems to have been forgotten in recent years.

Two weeks to clear their minds, take stock of the situation, and set aside pride and prejudices to determine what kind of Milan they want to be this season.
