CONCEICAO A SKY: "IL VOLTO DELLA SCONFITTA OGGI NON È QUELLO DI THEO MA DI CONCEICAO"

Ecco direttamente da Sky Sport le parole di un delusissimo Sergio Conceiçao dopo l'eliminazione del suo Milan dalla Champions League:


Bilancio dei 180 minuti?

"La delusione è grande, siamo tutti arrabbiati: sapevamo di essere più forti. Abbiamo sbagliato a Rotterdam e abbiamopreparto questa per vincere: non si vedeva il modo in cui loro potessero arrivare alla nostra porta, noi abbiamo sbagliato il secondo gol in diverse occasioni. Di colpe ne abbiamo anche noi e adesso dobbiamo pensare al campionato: c'è il campionato, la Coppa Italia. Dobbiamo essere più forti e lavorare di più. Abbiamo giocato parecchio tempo senza un uomo a Zagabria e oggi: l'episodio di Theo ha cambiato la partita, fino a quel momento non avevano creato un'occasione"

Cosa ne pensa dell'episodio di Theo?

"Per me oggi una sconfitta. Negli anni precedenti hjo fatto cinque ottavi in sei anni con il Porto: ho fatto tanti di quegli errori che non potete immaginare. I miei giocatori anche fanno errori, ma la faccia di questa eliminazione è di Sergio Conceicao e non di Theo"

Gimenez perchè lo hai cambiato in inferiorità?

"La decisione è mia. Lo ho perché lui è arrivato una settimana fa: se ti ricordi ha avuto un piccolo problema prima di arrivare. Ha giocato anche rischiando di farsi male. Perché non Abraham? In quel momento eravamo sotto di un uomo, eravamo più bassi: volevo ripartire. Sono le scelte mie, se poi non vinco mi mettono le valige in mano e vado via. Rispetto tanto le opinioni di chi ha giocato a calcio"

Qualche cambio si poteva anticipare?

"Sì ogni allenatore vede la partita a modo suo. Cambiare per cambiare non vale la pena, io devo capire cosa possono dare in quel momento della partita"

Due espulsioni per ragazzate: è mancata maturità?

"Sicuramente c'è da migliorare su tanti punti e anche questo. Alle volte essere forti emotivamente è la cosa principale. Capisco la pressione di questi grandi club e all'interno c'è questro lavoro da fare: all'esterno l'ambiente non aiuta nemmeno i giocatori..."

Perché Theo è così intermittente?

"Lo conosco da tanto e so che lui può fare molto di più. Anche il suo allenatore può fare di più"

"The disappointment is huge, we’re all angry: we knew we were stronger. Why did you substitute Gimenez while being down a man?

"The decision is mine. I did it because he arrived a week ago: if you remember, he had a small issue before arriving. He played even risking injury. Why not Abraham? At that moment, we were down a man, we were sitting deeper: I wanted to counter-attack. These are my choices; if I don’t win, they’ll pack my bags and I’ll leave. I respect a lot the opinions of those who have played football."

Could some substitutions have been made earlier?

"Yes, every coach sees the game his own way. Substituting just for the sake of it isn’t worth it; I need to understand what they can give at that moment of the game."

Two red cards for childish mistakes: was maturity lacking?

"Surely there are many aspects to improve, including this. Sometimes, being emotionally strong is the main thing. I understand the pressure of these big clubs, and there’s work to be done within: on the outside, the environment doesn’t help the players either..."

Why is Theo so inconsistent?

"I’ve known him for a long time, and I know he can do much more. His coach can also do more."
