Tony D’Amico è nato a Popoli (Pescara) nel 1980. Ex centrocampista, ha giocato in Serie C e D con squadre come Cavese, Foggia, Empoli e Lecco. Si ritira nel 2013 e inizia a lavorare nel calcio: prima alla Vigor Lamezia, poi nel 2016 entra all’Hellas Verona come responsabile scouting.

Nel 2018 diventa direttore sportivo. Costruisce il Verona di Juric, scoprendo talenti come Rrahmani, Kumbulla e Amrabat, rivenduti per oltre 55 milioni.

Il lavoro all’Atalanta

Nel 2022 passa all’Atalanta, al posto di Giovanni Sartori. In poco tempo porta una serie di colpi importanti, rendendo la squadra competitiva e sostenibile.

Tony D’Amico was born in Popoli (Pescara) in 1980. A former midfielder, he played in Serie C and D for clubs like Cavese, Foggia, Empoli, and Lecco. He retired in 2013 and started working in football: first at Vigor Lamezia, then in 2016 he joined Hellas Verona as head of scouting.

In 2018, he became sporting director. He built the Verona team coached by Juric, discovering players like Rrahmani, Kumbulla, and Amrabat, later sold for over €55 million in total.

In 2022, he moved to Atalanta, replacing Giovanni Sartori. He quickly made a name for himself with smart transfers, keeping the club competitive and financially strong.
