Entriamo nel dettaglio delle parole di Boban durante l'ottima intervista di Andrea Longoni. Di seguito, un estratto sulle parole riguardanti l'attuale AD del Milan Giorgio Furlani:

“Giorgio Furlani è un milanista, un vero milanista. Ma a modo suo. Lui è stato costruito diversamente. Lui è stato un matematico, un businessman di un fondo e quella è la sua maniera di vedere le cose, non riesce a distinguere bene quello che per noi rappresenta il Milan. Però l’ha tifato tutta la vita, l’ho conosciuto già prima e non è in discussione.

Poi lui ha i suoi capi a cui risponde religiosamente, dimenticandosi della passione, dello sport, del calcio, di tutto quello che è appartenenza, di tutti gli altri valori che sono il Milan per tutta la gente normale che ama il Milan. Lì non ci arrivi, lui è proprio quadrato come manager e basta. Non sa fare calcio, quali competenze ha Giorgio Furlani per fare calcio? Ed è normale.

Dovrebbe circondarsi di persone che capiscono di calcio. Uno che ha capito tanto l’ha mandato via. Anche lui avrebbe dovuto porsi domande, capire cos’è il bene del Milan e che Maldini e Massara erano un bene del Milan. Era protezione tecnica, per non dire della rappresentanza del simbolismo che Paolo in sé porta. Gli rimprovero più quello che il fatto che sappia o non sappia… Non sa. E lui pensa che Moncada sa tutto.

Questo è il fatto. Perché lo scouting per lui basta per capire tutto. Allenatore? Figurati, allenatore grande o meno vediamo: questo è il budget e via, sono uguali. Non danno importanza a queste cose perché non sanno fare calcio. Non hanno idea”.

“Giorgio Furlani is a Milanista, a true Milanista. But in his own way. He was shaped differently. He’s a mathematician, a businessman from a fund, and that’s how he sees things — he can’t quite grasp what Milan represents to us.

But he’s supported the club all his life, I knew him even before, and that’s not in question.
The problem is, he answers religiously to his superiors, forgetting about passion, sport, football — about everything that represents belonging, and all the other values that Milan stands for in the hearts of regular people who love the club.

That’s where he falls short. He’s just a rigid manager, and that’s it.
He doesn’t know how to do football — what qualifications does Giorgio Furlani have to run a football club? And that’s normal.

He should surround himself with people who understand football.
But someone who truly understood the game — he let them go.
He should’ve asked himself questions, tried to understand what’s best for Milan — and the truth is, Maldini and Massara were good for Milan.

They were technical protection, not to mention what Paolo represents symbolically.
What I blame him for isn’t just what he knows or doesn’t know… It’s that he doesn’t know.
And he thinks Moncada knows everything.

That’s the point. Because to him, scouting is enough to understand everything.
As for the coach? Forget it — whether it's a top manager or not, it’s all the same: here’s the budget, let’s go.
They don’t value these things because they don’t know how to do football.
They have no clue.”
