É la finale di Champions League. È Milan - Barcellona.

Alla vigilia i Catalani sono sicuri. Il Barça è la squadra favorita, e il Milan di Fabio Capello è assolutamente battibile.

"Noi abbiamo Romario, loro Desailly" dice Cruijff sprezzante del pericolo il giorno prima in conferenza stampa. Ne è certo: i suoi blaugrana sono pronti a travolgere un Milan privo degli squalificati Costacurta e Baresi.

Poi però, la partita si gioca. E bastano 22 minuti per ammutolire una panchina, una città, una regione intera.

Daniele "Provvidenza" Massaro segna. E non accontentandosi segna ancora, insaccando al 45' il gol del 2-0.

Inizia la ripresa e ad Atene si assiste a uno dei gol più belli della storia del Milan e della Champions League. Al 47' Dejan Savicevic sorprende Zubizzareta con un pallonetto millimetrico. Un tiro che sembra pilotato, una parabola degna del miglior videogioco calcistico.

È festa Milan.

A questa festa però si vuole unire ancora un giocatore. Proprio quel Desailly chiamato in causa il giorno prima dall'allenatore del Barcellona. Vero, non sarà stato Romario, ma al 58' Marcel chiude il match, e qualche conto in sospeso, siglando il 4-0 e regalando al Milan la sua quinta Champions League. La terza dell'era Berlusconi.

On the eve of the match, the Catalans are confident. Barça is the favorite team, and Fabio Capello's Milan is absolutely beatable.

"We have Romario, they have Desailly," says Cruijff dismissively the day before at the press conference. He's certain: his blaugrana are ready to crush a Milan without the suspended Costacurta and Baresi.

But then, the match is played. And it takes only 22 minutes to silence a bench, a city, an entire region.

Daniele "Providence" Massaro scores. And not satisfied, he scores again, netting the 2-0 goal in the 45th minute.

The second half begins, and in Athens, we witness one of the most beautiful goals in the history of Milan and the Champions League. In the 47th minute, Dejan Savicevic surprises Zubizarreta with a precise lob. A shot that seems guided, an arc worthy of the best soccer video game.
